About Us

The introduction of an expanded vision signals a new chapter in our distinguished history as a regional health initiatives funder. For 20 years, the St. Joseph’s Care Foundation has worked to improve and maintain the quality of health care provided to the citizens of the Peterborough area. As a charitable organization, the Foundation raises funds and develops partnerships in support of innovative and compassionate capital, capital equipment, research and education initiatives within the region.

Dedicated to life-long healthy aging, the Foundation supports projects that encourage all of us to make healthy choices and maintain healthy lives, no matter what our age. In addition to fundraising for the standard setting St. Joseph’s at Fleming, approximately 12% of our annual budget is earmarked for our Community Partnerships initiative, enhancing quality of life and enriching the lives of everyone in our community through the promotion of life-long healthy aging projects.

The broad scope of our expanded vision opens the doors for organizations outside traditional health care to submit proposals. New and enhanced opportunities to partner with Fleming’s Institute for Healthy Aging mean we have the latitude to move beyond a traditional approach to the issues. We look forward to seeing and hearing a wide range of ideas from our colleagues and from the community at large. Our minds are wide open!
